Christmas Party 2008

N.B. Music Christmas Party was held on 20th December 2008 and attended by students, parents, business and personal friends who all created a wonderful atmosphere. Our thanks to all those students who demonstrated their musical skills, particularly John Croft and Sam Griffiths for the amazing guitar duo; Levi for his outstanding drum solo; Charlotte and Brodie for their vocal duet and little Jasmine Browne for her christmas carol. Around 100 people attended the event and our thanks again to Veronica Poulton for her delicious curries and to Dawn for the mince pies. Jan was on mulled wine duties again, and had a terrible afternoon testing the recipe for quality control. Thank you everyone who came along and made the evening such a success.

XMAS PARTY

N.B. Music's Xmas party held on 15 December was a great success. Many students performed samples of what they had learnt. Little Jasmine Browne aged 4 was a Christmas Star and although not a pupil, looks set to be one in the future!

The evening was also a fundraising event for Breast Cancer Research. Amy Keen, aged 12, recently recorded an album in our studio, dedicated to the memory of her mother who died of the disease 6 years ago. Amy performed songs from the CD which was on sale on the night. Due to everyone's generosity we were able to donate 75 cyp to the fund. We have the CD for sale at the studio for 7 euros and hope to raise more funds in due course.

Our thanks to Jezebel who sang on the night and also to Rhys for his vocal/guitar performance. Also to Maria who played her saxophone beautifully. The students rendition of Slade's Merry Xmas could probably be heard several streets away!

Veronica Poulton catered for the event with a range of excellent curries. Dawn provided mince pies and Jan brewed copious amounts of mulled wine. Sam Browne organised Pizza for those wanting a lighter meal, whilst Ciaran Poulton made tuna vol-au-vents in large quantities as these are a traditional feature of N.B. Music parties. Each student went away with a Xmas Gift and happy parents!

Everyone really enjoyed the four hour session and all the participants had a chance to try out drums, piano and a range of guitars. The audience at the end of the day, were the parents who all appreciated the show. Watch this space for further workshops.

Dance troupe 'Funky Munkeys' comprising Laura, Bryony and Ellie, aged 13, 11 and 12, performed a great selection choreographed and rehearsed by themselves. As a result a professional Dance teacher in the audience has offered to teach the girls.
